An Era In Minneapolis

Minneapolis... otherwise known as the City of Lakes was also the home of Taylor Swift's mega-popular Era's tour in June 2023 at US Bank Stadium. Swifties flocked to the area to catch a glimpse of Cruel Summer, and we were no exception. Minnesota was never necessarily on my bucket list but the Mall of America was, so it was worth a try.

Our hotel was GORGEOUS, and right on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Anytime there's a Graduate hotel, I want to stay there. They're so historical and unique to coincide with the college that they're close to; but they also teeter the more expensive side. Being on campus meant that most things were within walking distance, which was incredibly convenient.

Our friend Megan's main trip goal was visiting this restaurant featured on the Food Network, People Magazine, Netflix, and more. Pizzeria Lola had some of the coolest food I've ever seen... from szechuan green beans to paloma's; but their pizza is where they really shine. We tried the Lady Zaza with plum tomato sauce, korean sausage, napa kimchi, gochujang, scallion, sesame... and this is also how I learned that kimchi is delicious. For dessert, we tried the famous vanilla soft serve extra-virgin olive oil ice cream. We were nervous, but it was absolutely amazing. Truly, every single thing was. There's a reason why this place has rave reviews. A must-see.

And of course, when in Minneapolis, there's the infamous Mall of America. At this point in history, malls are a dying breed... so seeing this landmark felt really special. There were so many options, and even the Nickelodeon theme park inside with plenty of rides. Hopefully, even if malls die out, this one will still be around forever.

Last but not least is Hell's Kitchen. Not Gordon Ramsay's reality tv show, but still a popular spot. If you're a bloody Mary fan, this is the place for you. This is another restaurant featured in major press outlets such as USA Today. For brunch enthusiasts, HK features a bloody Mary and mimosa bar with drinks that are huge, along with the occasional live entertainment.

24 hours in Minneapolis... and that's what we have to show for it. Not too shabby. This was a one-and-done destination for me but if you have any other awesome suggestions that were missed, send 'em over!
